Real Estate Salesperson Estimate
N.Y.S. 45 HOUR LICENSE QUALIFICATION COURSE: N.Y.S. Law requires completion of this approved course before an applicant can become licensed. Approximate investment is $350 to $400. For list of approved locations click here.
N.Y.S. LICENSE APPLICATION FEE: Payable to the Department of State. Investment is $50 for a two year license and a $15 exam entrance examination fee is required.
COLDWELL BANKER HUNT KENNEDY REAL ESTATE SUCCESS CENTER PROGRAM: No charge if you qualify for our intensive, on-the-job training program designed for immediate success in the real estate business.
PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY of YOURSELF: From $100 to $500, depending on who you choose.
BUSINESS CARDS: Approximately $80 for 1,000 picture cards. Personal photos are needed and you will need 6 wallet-sized copies.
NAME TAGS: Personalized name badges are needed and are available for around $20.
MEMBERSHIP IN LOCAL BOARD AND MULTIPLE LISTING SERVICE: Membership in the Manhattan Association of Realtors is required for utilization of the Manhattan MLS. Coldwell Banker Hunt Kennedy pays your MLS fees, but you must pay for your Board dues. MANAR is $350 per year and The Real Estate Board of New York costs $400. Both are pro-rated based upon when you join. MANAR’s fees include membership in the National Association of Realtors and the New York State Association of Realtors.
ERRORS and OMISSIONS INSURANCE is provided to all our agents by a group policy. Each agent is assessed out of each closed transaction.
TRANSPORTATION: taking customers around town and meeting with clients requires the ability to get around town. Expect to spend at least $1,000 on taxi’s and public transit.
Optional Personal Marketing
PERSONAL BROCHURE: Personal Marketing Brochures are available from our vendors without all the trouble of designing them. They run from $300 to $500 for 500 brochures.
PERSONAL WEBSITE: Coldwell Banker Hunt Kennedy subsidizes personal marketing websites for its agents. They are available for $35/ month.
